Since I have been outed to the entire facebook community about my blog by my favorite upline, Beckie, I thought I better get a post! It has been soooo long that I almost forgot how to logon. That is very bad. I will try this year to make a better effort about getting some more activity to my blog. I feel bad that I have neglected blogging for so long. It is hard to find the time to stamp and post and have a family sometimes! I know it is really a lame excuse. But it's all that I got right now! These are a few ideas that I have been playing around with for my swaps for leadership next week. I better get a move on since this is all I've got so far. I even broke out some of the new in colors, that is really disappointing that I'm just now using them and it is January! I'm such a slacker. LOL.
SInce Logan is having a cheerleading birthday party this weekend, I thought that I'd brake out my big shot and the banner die to make her a cute banner for her party. I'll get a picture of that up when I make it. I better get a move on tho since the party is Saturday and I haven't made it yet. I do have all of the decorations ready. I am just working getting a few local high school cheerleaders to help out. Wish me luck.

Check out the new color collections for SU! I'm so excited that my favorite old colors are coming back plus some great new ones. Yes, I'm glad to see some of the retiring colors to go but I really haven't used most of them anyway. I love that SU has been watching the trends for the past several years to come out with these fabulous colors.

Yippee. I can play in Karen's challenge this week. I really need to make a card for Karl's basketball coach but this was more fun! I'll get the coach card after the kids go to bed! Whoa, I can't believe that is march already. What happened to February? I only got one post up. I'm such a slacker these days. I did have a bunch of stamping workshops tho. If that is any excuse. I guess I should have posted those projects. Maybe next time. I had fun with Karen's challenge today. Can you see where my mind is? I want to be laying on a beach with one of these drinks!! I think I had some major spring fever today. It was almost 60 here is Colorado! Don't get me wrong, we will get our fair share of more snow before spring and summer hit! You gotta love Colorado weather. Well back to my card. I used one of my fav sets, cheers! It is so fun. The words came from Stamping Bella. Sorry for the crappy photo, the words say "Bottom's Up". I used yoyo yellow, only orange and green galore CS. I used a bunch of markers. I painted the glasses with some crystal effects for the shiny, glass look. I sprinkled some glitter on the umbrella b/c you always need some glitter! I was soooo excited that I actually had a real bow turn out the right way!! It's the little things that make my day! Here is one of my new bella stamps that I got. I've had them for a while, I just kinda forgot about them. I thought that I pull out this stamp for my friend's birthday. I hope she likes her. loving the vintage style

I have discovered that I love the vintage look. At leadership, Shelli showed us so many fabulous vintage looks I thought I'd give it a try. I love it!!! I really love that I'm using a free stamp set, Vintage Vogue. One of the perks of being a demonstrator! This is a card that I am demonstrating tonight at my stamp club. I hope the ladies love it as much as I do. I love when I stumble on a card that I adore. I used the Vintage Vogue set and coordinating wheel (can't remember the name-just pulled it out the box today!), soft suede, rich razzleberry, rose red, naturals ivory and pretty in pink paper. I used rich razzleberry, soft suede and cclose to cocoa ink. For the flowers, I punched out 3 sizes of the circles and the crinkled up and spritzed with water and kinda just shaped into the current shape. You like my directions for that, real technical huh! The topper is another fun idea that I learned at leadership, mix some of the champagne simmer paint in with hand sanitizer and spritz on card. It gives a great look! I wished that it would show up better on the picture, just imagine a shimmery card.
On a side note, I never could get a card or picture loaded from my iphone. One day!

Wow, It is so amazing how the time can slip right by me. I guess when you work full time, have 3 kids and other activities it can happen. I meant to post this card a while ago but I had so much going on in November. I had a craft fair, then an unexpected trip back home for a funeral and then Thanksgiving. So my apologies but here is a new favorite stamp of mine. I think I have become addicted to some of the Stamping Bella stamps. An addiction may be an understatement. One day at work I did some casual shopping and $100 later I have about the whole collection! I hate when I have free time on my hands at work. It is only badness that follows!! They are so darn cute tho. This is the Christmatini stamp. I did this card for my card class this year. I have several friends that will be getting this card for the holidays too!
I used SU bashful blue, always artichoke and silver paper, markers and some SU ribbon. I painted the glass with crystal effects for that shimmery look! Hopefully, I will get some time to play with my new SU digital studio. I have a goal of making calendars for everyone for Christmas. I really wish that my photos were well organized. It would be a whole lot easier!! If I have time to show those before I send it off, I upload a month or two!

Yippee, I'm getting to participate in Karen's challenge this week! I was excited that I could sneak a few moments this morning to make a card for her challenge. The only downfall for the extra time was that I missed the gym because Logan had a fever when she got up! Now I need to force myself to workout at home. I might do a few minutes but it definitely won't be the great hour that I would have had. Oh well. I have a craft fair that I need to get ready for too! UGH. I really need to quit waiting until the last moment for stuff. I getting a bunch of card packs ready. I'll be posting a sample of that later in the week.

I really like making cards that are the long note version. Since, the great sample used the "Very Thankful" set, I thought I'd pull it out and ink it up! It is such a adorable set too. The proceeds go to a great cause, the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I really like using the Taken with Teal and Chocolate Chip combo too. I know the pic doesn't look like teal. Good morning! Here is a little card that I created for christmas. I cased this card from a swap that I got at convention 2 years ago! The original card used Dreams du jour stamp set and the In colors. I copied the idea using the Christmas punch set. I was trying to stay with greens and red. I really like how it turned out except for the edge that I caught on the saying. I hate when I do that!

It is way more fun to post a new blog instead of cleaning up my stamp room! I really need to clean and purge and organize. Why does it take so long to clean and organize and then one session of stamping it is a disaster area? Then my kids get in the room and it really falls apart. Can you believe that christmas is just around the corner? I'm still trying to adjust to back to school. Anyway, I made this card for our school's silent auction. I always make christmas cards b/c they are a big hit. I just love the medallion stamp. It is Stampin' Up's best seller. You can see why, it is so darn versatile. I copied the design from a card that I got at convention. I just changed the colors and made it a holiday card. I love how elegant it looks. I embossed the stamp with silver embossing powder and pulled out an old favorite color, riding hood red for the base and ribbon. I used the always artichoke for the green. I just love the bellas! They are so darn sassy. This card was for one of my friend's birthday that was yesterday. At least, I remembered to snap a picture before I ran out the door for an evening out. Yippee for me!! It was nice to sneak out with friends and have a cocktail or two. Maybe that explains why I'm so darned tired right now. Or it could be that I had to work all day and then run too soccer with the 2 older ones. No it's not me!! (You thought it might be me..Ha Ha) Three is enough for me. I have so many friends that are pregnant and thankfully I'm not on the bandwagon this go around. Here is a card that I made for a friend back in St. Louis that is having her 1st baby. I love how this image looks when it is embossed. Sorry, I can't remember which set this is from. I don't know if you can tell but I was having a little static issue with the embossing powder. There are some black flecks on my card. I hate when that happens. I even used my embossing buddy! I thought I'd try out some new color combos. What do you think? my husband didn't think that is was very cheery! What does he know about color?! (Oh yeah... a lot, he's a graghic designer!)

Good morning all! I don't think I have ever posted early in the morning. I was just hanging out waiting for my kids to wake up so I can get them ready for daycare. I had a few moments, so I thought I'd share a card that I'm doing for a shoebox swap at convention. It took me forever to think of an idea for this swap. I just did feel the mojo for a while. But saturday I started to play around and I came up with this card. I saw an old sample using "Wow Flowers" and I thought how simple. You know, I've had this set for a while and I don't think that I've ever inked it up! Nothing like waiting until the last minute to start a swap when you need 49 cards! versamark techniques

Here are some samples that I made for my stamp club. I was demonstrating the versatility of the the versamark pad. I love versamark. There are so many things that you can do with it. I showed the emboss resist technique and dazzling diamond dust. I love emboss resist, I love everyone's faces as you brayer over the image! I kinda cheated when I did the dazzling diamond technique. Instead of using the heat and stick powder then the dd glitter, I just use iridescence ice EP. You get the same effect without the hassle! For the emboss resist card I used the thoughts and prayers set. The other card is Flight of the Butterfly with some new SU "In Colors". I used the Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. I will have to say that the colors had to grow on me. I wasn't really fond of them the first time I saw them. Now I love them! I'm off to come up some with swap ideas for convention! I just have been putting off making anything b/c I've had no mojo. I better find it soon or I'll be in trouble. I'll show off my ideas over the weekend sometime. I have to work all weekend too. I can't believe that my little Karl has finished his first year of school! Gosh, I can't believe how fast that year flew by! Today was his "continuation" ceremony. From the picture, he needs to learn not to pull his pants up so high! He kept on yanking past his belly! It was so cute. This card is one of several that I made for his teachers. I was trying to go with some of the "apple" theme! I just love the Tart and Tangy set. It makes me want to go out and celebrate summer. I just love the yummy dsp paper, washington apple. Too bad it is retired.
I used some crystal effects to give the apple some "pop". I also added this embellishment to the gift bag and card that I used. I love simple cards. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy.

It's been too long!

You know you've been away too long when you can't remember your password! Gosh, isn't that sad. Hopefully, I will get better about posting. I know I say that all the time. I wish that I had more time in the day or maybe less time at work! HA HA! At night, I'm so pooped that I'm usually heading off to bed at the same time as my kids. Isn't that depressing? I wish I had the energy to stay up late and get time to scrap or stamp or something. I held a scrapbook camp last weekend and we made 4 2- 12x12 page layouts. If I get some pictures on those pages, I'll post them! Hopefully this weekend I can sneak a few minutes. I have a 4-day weekend!! YEAH! and no baseball! I do need to go and give my backyard some more love. I did get a garden planted last weekend. Hopefully, I'll have some yummy veggies this summer, unless my 2 yo digs them up! I already caught him digging. Here is my card that I made for a birthday party that my daughter went to on Saturday. I love my Big Shot and what a better way to use Hello Kitty! This is such a fun die! My little Logan thinks that Hello Kitty is her toy!!! Not so much.

I finally have started to get back in the swing of things again. I'm so excited that I can do a challenge card this week. Well almost. I have 1 more day at my rotation on Monday. I am in the process of finishing up my doctor of pharmacy degree (PharmD). I never would have thought that when I started in 2001 that it would have taken another 8 years to complete!! Of course I didn't know that I was going to have 3 children either! I should be graduating in May. I started my last rotation in March, that is why I have been absent. It is just to hard to do that and work a full-time job and have 3 kids. Hopefully I will get back to regular posts.
Today I took some time to enjoy our last (hopefully, keep your fingers crossed) day of winter! We made a snowman and the kids made snow angels. Then I got to sneak off to my stamp room and make a card for my mom's birthday on Friday. I'm sure that she won't be so amused by it but I love this new set.
It is "Golden Oldies" from the SU new mini catalog. I used some extra scraps laying around the long strip. I got the sketch from Clean and Simple. Check out that blog. It is so cool. Bleach it!

I was playing around today with the bleaching technique. I need to practice because I'm teaching a technique class in March and that is one technique that I'm going to be demonstrating. I love how my samples turned out. I will give you a bit of advice, use darker paper. I tried with Summer Sun and the results aren't the best! Also, do this in a well ventilated area. I was in my stamp room and I can tell! The fumes were getting potent! I used the Fifth Avenue Florals set, which I have been dying to test out! I used the Urban Garden DSP, Basic Gray, Not Quite Navy paper. I think I'm addicted to the Fifth Ave floral set! I love it. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy.

Once again, Karen has a wonderful sketch. Where do they come up with the ideas? At least, I get to reap the rewards of someone else's creativity! I was trying to kill 2 birds with one stone for this challenge. I needed to come up with some SAB samples so I used my new set, Yummy and the wonderful SAB DSP. Of course, I had to play with some of my new toys from the catty. Today, I was trying out my new embosslet, flower burst. I think I'm addicted. It is sooooo cool! I added a little DD glitter to the flower but I'm not sure if I like it. Maybe it will have to grow on me!

I was very excited when I saw this sketch for the challenge this week! I was anxiously awaiting my shipment from SU with my new catty goodies. I wanted to get my hands on the fabulous new punches!! I had to postpone my card until I had a few moments to spare to play with my toys! This is the card that I came up with. I love when I get a fabulous card in the mail! Yesterday, I got this adorable bee card from my upline, Beckie. It is just so darn cute! I really want to get this set. Beckie always has great ideas. I love my upline! She isn't even my immediate upline but helps us anytime we need it and always sends encouragement.
I have also included some pictures of Logan's room I was using the SU! Decor Elements line with the flowers and butterflys. It totally matches her room. I think it turned out so cute! She loved helping me put them on the wall. What do you think? I know it is a little difficult to get a good perspective on these. I think I need a photo class!

I thought I would post a picture of what I got to do this weekend. Logan had her 4th birthday party. It was so cute to see a bunch of little girls getting all glammed up! Isn't she so darn cute! Well, I guess I am biased too. We had her party at Lollilocks, a hair salon that has birthday parties too.They all got their hair fixed and toes and fingernails painted! There were 6 little girls. They had so much fun! I promise I will post some cards later in the week. I just tired today after doing laundry!

I can't believe that I haven't posted since Thanksgiving! I'm such a slacker and I'm sorry. I don't where the time has gone. I was trying to get my christmas cards finished and shopping and all of those lame excuses. One good excuse is that I have become addicted to facebook! OMG! I can't believe how much time that I waste on that site. But I have reconnected with some lost friends and that is so much fun!
All hasn't been neglected. I did get to my friend, Kara's house, and got some scrapbooking finished. I was impressed how much I got done in a short time. I managed to complete 5 pages in about 3 hours! I love SU scraping kits. I used the "I'm Here" boy set. It was from a few cattys ago. I have included one of the more simple pages that I completed. I thought it was missing something but everyone there thought this page looked great without a lot of details. The pictures are a little hard to see but it is my DH, Karl, and 1st child Karl. I just had this pictures laying around. I thought it was a great daddy -son moment! I hope you enjoy. I promise it won't be 2 months before I post again!

Color Challenge!

Kristina once again picked some fabulous colors. What a pick color combination for fall. Of course today in Colorado you wouldn't know it was fall. It is almost 70! It's hard to think Thanksgiving when it feels like summer. Oh well, it is going to get cold tonight. The colors this week were, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Whisper White. I tried to think what set had some mums but Upsy Daisy was as close as it gets! I saw this technique on someone else's blog. I'm sorry I forgot who to give credit too! What you do is ink your stamp with the lighter color and then ink a sponge dauber with the darker color and dab it on the stamp. I have used this technique with a lot of color combos. My fav is Old Olive and Night of Navy for a great guy card. Here is my card. The colors are more defined in the real card or maybe I need to juice up my Pumpkin pie pad. I stamped So Saffron as the base and then added Pumpkin pie on top. Thanks again Kristina. Enjoy.

Gosh, I can't believe that it has been so long since I posted. Where does the time go? I had to make some cards that I was donating for our church's silent auction and I was a total slacker about getting them done! Don't wait until the last minute to make 50 cards that have a lot of detail!!! I'm back and ready for another color challenge. I love the soothing colors this week. The challenge colors were: Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. I didn't even have to cut much b/c I had so much left over from my stamp-a-stack this past weekend too. What a bonus. I used some of the rub-ons that I had waiting to be used. The flower is a die-cut flower. I always have a hard time putting those to good use. This is going to be a quick post today. I need to get my tush off to the gym!! It's been a while since I've gone and I can tell. I've been enjoying a week of doing a whole lot of nothing since my friend, Cindy, came to visit. But I did sneek in a second to make a card for Kristina's color challenge this week. Seeing the inspiration picture, made me think that I really need to go get a mani and pedi! The colors were pink and red. I used the Pocket silhouettes set on the tag but I don't think that you can see it very well since I used Pink Pirouette ink! I loved the colors this week. Of course it made me think of my fav Bella Rosa DSP. I grabbed a couple of the flowers from the new flower fusion in this catty and the fab designer buttons too! I really need to improve my photo skills too!! Enjoy.

Here is the picture that I promised from the pumpkin patch on Saturday. I was so bummed that it was totally an overcast day. I love going to this pumpkin patch, Rockcreek Farms.
It is so big and it has the best views of the mountains in the background when it is clear. I have some of the best pictures taken here! I only took one posed picture because the kids were too excited to sit for anymore. The cards are some ideas that I'm working on for my upcoming card class. What do you think?

I can't believe how the time flies! It is time for another color challenge. Can you believe that it is number 26? Kristina has been doing some great work. I can't believe that I haven't posted since Friday. I'm such a slacker. I actually got a lot done too! We took the kids to the pumpkin patch in 40 degree, misty cold weather! I think that we are crazy. I even got to some scrapbooking. I'll get all of those pictures loaded later. Here is my card for today's challenge. Our challenge was to use Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, So Saffron and Whisper White. I just got a cuttlebug embossing plate so I had to use that for my background. I think I'm addicted! The stamp is from Pun Fun. I thought the ribbon was a fun touch. Enjoy!

It is time for another color challenge from Kristina Werner. She is so Fabulous for coming up with these color challenges. Thanks! When I saw these colors, I immediately thought little boy. These week the colors to use are Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red and So Saffron. I used my Bugs and Wishes set for the layout. The background is stamped with the Polka Dot DG stamp. I'm sure that I'll be using this card as a birthday card for some little boy. Enjoy!

I guess that I was very motivated this weekend. I got all of my samples done for my card class this thursday. I just need to cut everything but that will be another day! I thought that I'd try the SCS challenge too. I have been dying to use this new set, Humor in High Heels. This will definitely be a well used set! Even better, I used all scraps to put the card together. I must have had some great mojo! I used Purely Pomegranate CS, Bali Breeze DSP and Humor in High Heels set, Crystal effects on the shoes and of course some DD glitter! I guess I better post quickly, I see a naked baby coming my way! You know it's Thursday when I get a color challenge uploaded! This is going to be a quickie. I need to get to sleep (as usual!!). When I was thinking of my design, this is not how the card looked but given the time factor, I'm going with it. I started the card today before I went to work but I didn't get my new stamps in the mail yet. So that's why it's after 11pm and I'm posting my card! I loved the colors this week. Another great reminder of fall. We had to work with Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. I used the Upsy Daisy set for this card. When I first saw this set I didn't really like it but I've seen so many great samples that I had to get it. Go figure! Here is my card. Enjoy and good night! Wow, can you believe that I could pull off two posts in one day? It's a shock, I know. The last was easy. The pictures were already on my camera. I thought that I could get a jump on some of cool challenges that I want to do. I really liked the layout for this card! I had a really hard time trying to get the little triangle piece to work, so I added an extra button. Let me tell you, I was surprised when I opened my windsor knot DSP and discovered that it didn't have the same colors as the catty says! It is Baja Breeze instead of Sage Shadow! I wanted to use the baja breeze paper too. What a bonus for me! I thought of a cute little baby card with that paper. I used the Bundled in Love hippo. Probably one of my favs! You gotta love the new buttons too. Enjoy.

I didn't know what crazy was until I had 4 birthday parties over the weekend! We had 3 on saturday, back to back and 1 on Sunday. I was surprised how good the kids were. Karl didn't even have a meltdown after going to all of the parties! I will say by Sunday afternoon he was a tad crabby. I was hoping to get a nap out of him but I wasn't so lucky! At least I got to take a nap!! Anyway, here are a few of the cards that I made for the gifts. The first card is my take on the sesame street card. I really had fun with it! I love the bright colors. What a great way to use your punches. The second card is using the giant cupcake, Simple Birthday Thanks.
I used a marker to outline and the cut out the cupcake. I don't think that you can tell but I "painted" the icing with a large amount of crystal effects and then sprinkled glitter on it. Thanks for checking out my cards today!

I have always been wanting to try one of these challenges. I thought that today I would give it a try! I love Julee's work. She is such an inspiration. This is going to be a short note. I am watching Grey's Anatomy too! I used the new design of DSP in Always Artichoke. The colors that I used were Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant. The flower is from the Bloomin' Beautiful set and the words are from Wow Flowers. It is so nice to sit and an enjoy a TV show without my children interrupting! Life is blissful tonight!!! Here are a few cards that I stamped with some of my new stamps that I got. The first is using my new square punch and hostess set. I really like the dark colors.
The DSP is from the Bella Rosa paper. I am always going to this paper. I embossed the stamp too. The other card is using the new Cheers set!
I love this set. I got it from my great upline, Beckie. I won it from a contest that she had. I always love free sets! It's funny that I got this from her because she doesn't drink. I'm sure that I will use it all the time. I was trying to make a masculine card. I am always in need of one of those. Now I'm off to do laundry and enjoy a quiet house because my husband is gone with the kids and his parents to Estes Park. What a great way to spend my free time away from the children by doing laundry! Only a mother would do that! Enjoy.

You know what day it is, that means is time for Kristina's color challenge. Kristina picked some wonderful colors this week. We had to use Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Old Olive and either vanilla or white. I love this color combo. The flowers in the picture remind me of my wedding flowers! I absolutely love calla lillies. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love cool nights and mild days. Living in Colorado, I get to see snow capped mountains too. Enough chatting already, here is my card.I used Burgundy CS for the base, Saffron DSP for the next layer that was stamped in Old Olive using the Baroque Motifs set, vanilla ribbon and the flowers are chocolate chip, old olive and pumpkin pie. I stamped the words in Burgundy craft ink. Enjoy.

You know it's wednesday when it's color challenge time again! I had to take a quick sneak and look at the colors. I decided that I could get by with a little less sleep tonight! Since I didn't have any extra time last week, not that I have any free time this week, I thought I'd take a minute for myself and stamp a card! I had a hard time wrapping myself around these colors. I thought "what the heck, I'll give it a try!" We had to use regal rose, rose red, bravo burgundy, soft sky and whisper white. I love the fact that Kristina can always step out of the box! Pop-up card

Our stamping group had a challenge to try a pop-up card. Here is my version. I thought that this would be a fantastic idea for a baby announcement or shower card. I used the Bundled in Love set. I love the color combination of green and purple for babies but I thought I'd throw another color in too. I used Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst and Bashful Blue. Latte Love

Here is my weekly color challenge from Kristina Werner. I lover her color choices. I think that this week the hardest part was coming up with a set that wasn't a flower! This week the colors were: chocolate chip, regal rose, certainly celery, very vanilla and pink pirouette (one of the new SU "In Colors"). I wanted to keep it simple and wanted to play with my new Big Shot. I love it. I used the top notch die and put both pieces of CS in and viola! What a cinch. I used the Pun Fun set. I love this set. I haven't used the latte stamp until today. My go to stamp in that set in the hippo! I was stepping out of the box. I colored the mug in with my celery marker and the flowers got some regal rose. Girls always love diamonds, so I had to sprinkle DD glitter on the steam and hearts! The background paper in the new Bella Rosa DSP. I love that paper. It has so many awesome colors. Birthday Journal

It is time for the birthdays. My friend, Michelle, and I celebrate on the same day and then our friend, Uma, has her birthday of the 27th. This is a picture of Uma's birthday present. She is an avid journaler. A trait that I admire. I wish I could journal as much as she does. She has journals back to high school! Any way, these colors just reflect her persona! I used Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel for the ink. The sets are Eastern Blooms and Embrace Life. I apologize for the crummy picture, I was having lighting issues.

Of course, I had to throw a picture of my oldest, Karl, starting his first day at kindergarten. Doesn't he look so adorable in his uniform! He was so excited to start school. Enjoy.

It's that time again. Color Challenge time! Kristina has her blog fixed and is ready to roll for the color challenge. I love the inspiration this week. The colors are very relaxing to me. Maybe my spirits are in a gray mood! I don't know. When I saw the picture, I instantly thought of the Fresh Cuts set! Okay, I have the power cord again. Here are the pictures of my clean and organized stamp room. I wish it could be even cleaner but this is as good as it gets. The natural baskets are from target, gotta love Target! The white cabinets are from Michael's. Of course, I still had a child around while I was taking the pictures. It is my baby, Zachary. I can't believe that he is 18 months old already. I can't chat long tonight, my oldest, Karl, is starting kindergarten tomorrow and I have to get all of the school supplies set out and the uniform ironed! Yeah for uniforms. Organization!

I took of advantage of the great Colorado weather and got my stamp room clean and organized! I have slowly been working on buying containers. Since we had rain and cold weather (50's for the high!) for the last 2 days and I was sick of children asking when the rain was going to stop, I snuck off to my sanctuary to clean! I don't think my children have seen so much rain at one time. If your not familiar with CO weather, it never rains this much at one time! I will say, the cool weather was a welcome break for August! The mountains even got several inches of snow! I would love to show you the pictures of my clean, organized room but my husband took the power cord to work. I almost forgot about the color challenge today. I had to pack up the china cabinet after playing softball tonight. Hopefully, I will have a beautiful living room/dining room after this weekend. My husband has done his part. I need to step up to the plate and get my tush in gear to make the curtains (or maybe pay someone to do it)! Anyway, back to the color challenge. I loved the colors in Kristina's inspiration but when push came to shove I had a difficult time. The colors were; black, pumpkin pie, rose red and green galore. At least I got to try out my new Sizzix Big Shot! I love it! The flowers and leaves were from the birds and blossoms die! I used the Baroque Basics for the background and I'm embossed with clear EP. Wow, Big News!

It has been a long time since my last post. Boy, I was trying to get everything in order so I would be ready for convention. I was still working on my swaps in Salt Lake City. What a surprise! At least, I got a meal ready for my family and had laundry all done and clothes set out for the days that I was gone.

I had a blast at convention as usual. I have returned ready to go again. The excitement is overwelming! SU announced a partnership with Sizzix for SU's own Big Shot and exclusive dies!!! I'm so glad that I had never bought one before. I should be getting mine tomorrow too. Yeah!! It was so nice to see my friends and meet some great new stampers.

I can't wait for my open house on the 15th to show off my new Sizzix! I'm going to play this weekend. I'm going up to the mountains to get away from my house and the construction. Hopefully, I will have some new hardwood floors when I get home on Sunday evening. If not, my DH will have some explaining!

Here is a scrapbook page that we did at convention. I just modified it a little bit. The original page was 8x8.I love the new set that we got for free too. Too bad, I don't remember the name. I just love the new flower buttons and felt flowers! I added the 12x12 background paper. I think it was from last year. I can't remember, I just hoard too much paper! I had this picture of my beautiful, little Logan. Okay, maybe I'm a bit behind scrapbooking but this picture is 2 years old! It fit perfect and matches. The heavens must have been in alignment for me!

birthday bling

This was one of the cards that we made Friday night at my card class. This was my favorite. I CASED it from splitcoast stampers. Thank you whoever was the creator! I left the color scheme the same, had less circles and added the scallop punch and bling! I wanted my cards to be a little, extra special for this class. It worked great because it utilized 2 retiring sets! I think it would look great with a ton of color combos too. I might have to try that later since I'm still working on my swaps for convention! color challenge time

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do the color challenge this week. I working on some cards for a class tomorrow night. I love the colors this week, so I had to make time for the challenge. I need to make a card using Sage Shadow, Regal Rose, Rose Red and Whisper White. These are colors that I wouldn't normally put together, esp the Sage Shadow! The dress was so beautiful. I felt inspired. Once again, I used a few scraps. The Rose Red strip and Cutie Pie DS paper were my scraps along with the striped ribbon. I stamped the Sage Shadow paper with Pretty Petals BG stamp. I thought the pretties kit would add a vintage touch.

Here is another swap that I'm working on. What do you think? I hate trying to figure what it is missing! I love the new set, Dreams Du Jour. It is a great set for watercoloring. That is what I did. I used the watercolor crayons and then embossed with the Iridescent Ice EP. I used Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery and Lavender Lace CS and white taffeta ribbon.

Okay, I'm a little nervous. this is my first attempt at Kristina Werner's color challenge. I loved the colors together. It is so soothing. Even better, I used all scrap CS to make my layers! I knew one day I could put some of those to good use. I hate throwing away even the smallest piece of CS. I have gotten a lot better since I've been cleaning up and organizing my stamp room. The phrase is from SU's new word set "Heard from the Heart". It will be available in the Fall/Winter 2008 Catalog. Since the color challenge included Very Vanilla, I water colored the flower from the pretties kit with Soft Sky ink. You always need some bling too! Enjoy.

Here is my first try at a swap today. I'm trying out some the new, yummy SU! "In Colors". I have used Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango and a good, old stand by, chocolate chip. I was trying to come up with a manly card. I wanted to choose a set, Winds of Grace, that wanted be so popular at convention. I used the crimper on the strip of Choc chip. What do you think? Long Weekend

I am so surprised that I found any time to stamp this weekend. My husband took off to Daytona to watch the race and left me with the 3 darling children. Thank goodness for one day of nice weather! On Saturday we managed to enjoy a teaser of nice weather and got out to a park. I can't believe how much the weather changes here. It was almost 60 degrees on Saturday then snow on Sunday! In my free time, I managed to get an idea for my stamp camp later this week. I plan on using the great new rub-ons that SU has now. Then another project will be this crisscross card using the Ginger Blossoms designer paper and Embrace Life stamp set. I just love the color combo in the paper! Now I just need to come up with some more projects!

It's been a long time

I thought that I could handle posting a blog daily. What a sad disappointment! It is really hard when you have a job and a family. Then came the new year and I said to myself that I would try harder. Well here it is already February and I'm just getting around to my 1st post of the new year. I don't even my own project to add. I have a sample that I received from someone. I can't even give credit to the person. It is a great sample. This is a sample from the Sale-a-bration stamps. I love the colors and simplicity. Hopefully, I can get some of my own samples uploaded soon.

It has been a long since I posted. I didn't realize that I don't get a lot of time to myself. Usually I jump on the computer to check my email. It is nice to get some extra time to post. Here is a sample that I did from my stamp a stack from Saturday. I love the color combo of the Soft Sky with Night of Navy! The technique is spritzing the inked stamp. This weekend, I'm going away for a girl's weekend. We are planning on some stamping and hitting a spa. I will have some new stuff to post next week.
